3M Welding Survey Offers Chance at Free Eyewear

3M recently started a giveaway promotion to coincide with the launch of its new Lexa™ MinimIzeR™ safety glasses. The eyewear is designed for welders, helpers, and other personnel around the immediate welding site, such as supervisors or engineers, to minimize their chances of accidental exposure to "flash burn."

Typically, welders have worn green-shaded safety glasses when they've taken off their welding helmet in order to reduce exposures from a neighboring arc-strike; however, these glasses tend to limit visual acuity and create possible secondary hazards, such as tripping, falling, or walking into stationary objects. The Lexa MinimIzeR safety glasses allow more visible light transmission and can be worn under a welding helmet.

Additionally, the glasses comply with ANSI Z87.1-2003 and CSA Z94.1 as a high-impact protector and feature a DX™ anti-fog hard coat that protects against fogging, scratching, static, and chemical attack.

To receive a free pair, readers must complete a short online welder survey, located here. The offer is limited to the first 1,000 customers (one pair each), and the promotion will run through Jan. 31, 2009.

I wanted to take the survey and get a free pair of Lexa Minimizer but the web site says the survey period is over. On the flyer I have there is no time limit to take the survey. Bummer! I really wanted to try these safety glasses and see how they work.
